Classic Le Mans 2023

Anybody going to the Classic this year? I’m booked and hoping to take one of the AVA Turbos (if I can get it through the MOT 😉)

I’m intrigued, Rob - are you saying that you felt happier with the apron fitted, or that it improved the handling?

Re: Should I? A 840csi available in my area

A bit late to the party, I know, but I very nearly bought an 850 CSi a few years ago, but the deal fell through. I desperation I got a 840 instead. Slush ‘box and not a six-speed manual. It’s a lovely car and goes pretty well - however, I’m hankering for a 850CSi again (sadly prices have increased 2...

Re: E24 Mono Wiper Conversion - Help Needed

No offense intended. I was merely answering in the style of ‘Horsetan’ (don’t you miss his posts?!) Seriously though, is it really worth doing? You’d have to weld up and refinish the bodywork to hide the redundant opening. Then you’d have to find a motor and assembly to give a longer travel for the ...

It was bid to £8,100 before the auction was cancelled. Obviously sold it off eBay, possibly for more than that sum?

Of course you're not! I never deprive myself of a new (read, old) motor when I find a suitable candidate for sale. Such fun buying them and getting to work on them. I bought a '99 Jeep Cherokee Orvis over the weekend and I'm looking forward to picking it up tomorrow  E24s remain my only true l...

Re: FS - UK RHD M635CSi #362 or 363?

What a crying shame :( Looks like its only good for a re-shell, unless you're a masochist or a master-welder (who's also a masochist  ) I couldn't make out the VIN either. I wonder what the reserve is - as once you've purchased the wreck, then a good donor car, I reckon you'll be into it for so...

How about this piston I removed from a non-running S1 a few years back. I ended up breaking it, but with hindsight I shouldn’t have, looking at today’s values of ‘restoration projects’

Re: Another UK M635CSi fs!

In my experience, a 635 will often start pretty much ‘on the button’ as long as there’s nothing wrong with it. I’ve been amazed when a motor that’s been standing for maybe four or five years will burst into life with no drama. If that doesn’t happen, be prepared for a possibly lengthy (and expensive...

Such a shame that they were allowed to get into such a state in the birst place  And surely an indication of just how highly appreciated these incredible motors are today! I'm so glad I got #109 last year - its 'almost' pristine compared to those other two . I reckon I got a bargain, as i...
