Re: 1982 CSi Resto
Thanks for the replies. When I stripped the paint back it looked like the trunk / boot gutter was black...well that'll save a job then!

Re: 1982 CSi Resto
Thanks for the comments! It is fun putting back the parts I've been preparing for the last few months - also all the new parts. Can anyone confirm the areas which should be painted black? I think they should be; 1. Rear licence plate surround. 2. Boot (trunk) gutter. 3. Sills. 4. Roof trim gutters -...

Thanks Ron, very useful. Wish I had seen the instruction; 'heat the adhesive strip to remove the spoiler' before spending ages with a scraper a few months back.

Pre 83 Fog Light Bracket
I have the pre 83 fog lights but I'm missing the brackets. Could anyone show me a picture of these so I can fabricate them...or sell them to me (UK)?

I had job getting mine started - I think in the end it was the Flywheel position sensor - these you can test. Have you by-passed the onboard computer immobiliser?

Thanks for posting the photos - it looks nice - kind of like the twin exhausts...but not the wheels! The colour is unusual - I assume special order. Does it have any history and what are your plans for her?

The car's been with the body shop for a few weeks. The chap doing the work is really good so I'm quite excited to see it finished (next week). He sent me some photos, see here;

Re: Cleaning up aluminum B pillar trim
If Autosol doesn't work then you'd have to get it re chrome affect anodised...which I guess would be pretty expensive. I've had to do a lot of chrome retrieval on my car - you can't do too much to the anodised layer otherwise you will go through it - polished aluminium looks fine but it's not quite ...

My headlight assemblies are E12 based as fitted in the factory to my car. My original main beams, from the 1980's, are identical in every way to the new ones 'Made in Germany' large Hella symbol etc - see photo here;

Thanks for the really interesting and useful replies. Re: Fuel but no spark
Hi Machbuffet, I started restoring my car just before Christmas - it hadn't run for 9 years. I had a very frustrating few months trying to get the car started and went through everything 10 times. In the end I can't be sure why it started but replacing the cold start valve might have been the key. A...
