Re: 83 633 Front Spoiler

I think I found my answer. I just wasn't searching correctly. Now I just have to find one out there.

83 633 Front Spoiler

I'm wanting to add the lower valance or air dam to my 83 US 633 and I'm confused which air dams I need to be on the lookout for. Could I get an explanation which air dams will fit my car. I'm pretty sure I need to stay clear of the Euro style valances, correct?

Thanks,
Brandon

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Replaced the fan clutch with a new Sachs unit. Might be one of the easiest/straightforward repairs I've ever done. No more minor temp rises at red lights.

Re: Which style of fan clutch

Replaced the fan clutch yesterday with a new Sachs clutch. I didn't realize how stable the temp remains with a properly operating fan clutch. My temp gauge never reached 12 on the dial. I wish all jobs could be that easy.

Re: LSD - Correct Fluid

Anyone have any issue running redline 75W90 in the a LSD from 83? Brad Penn also has a LSD GL-5 80w90 oil. Brad Penn also has a Hypoid 75w90 oil. Just wanting to make sure to put a known good product in and don't have much knowledge of these diffs.

thanks,

LSD - Correct Fluid

I'm looking to next change the diff fluid in the car just to make sure I'm good for a while. Is Redline/Royal Purple still a good manuf for our diff's? I've got the LSD version. What do you guys think of Brad Penn fluids? I currently use BP for engine and tranny, but don't know about their gear oil....

Re: Which style of fan clutch

My bad. I think the embossed number is for the plastic part and not the clutch. But you seem to have the problem solved. Also, get yourself a $17 wrench set (fan clutch holder and narrow wrench for the nut) to make the job easier..When you reinstall the new clutch, a dab of anti-seize is appropriat...

Re: Which style of fan clutch

Thanks for the assistance. I did find the PN (12725440420) on the fan, but when I search for it nothing came up. Regardless, I'm ordering the Sachs screw-on style clutch.

Thanks again for the help.

Re: 635 on Wheeler Dealers show

That episode is the reason I purchased my 633. I'd never been interested in BMW's, but thought they were always nice cars. One night I woke up, couldn't go back to sleep and started watching TV. I'd never seen Wheelers Dealers, but watched that one episode and really liked the lines of the 6-series...

Which style of fan clutch

I understand there are (2) styles of fan clutches available for our 6's. I'm assuming mine is part # 11521723918 based on the RealOEM data, but also understand a PO could've revised it to another style. Could you guys weigh-in regarding if my part # is correct based on the pic. I would like to order...

Re: Maybe I'm crazy, but

If you ride a motor cycle, you will appreciate the sensory stimulation of being out in the fresh air. Most cars are hermitically (sic) sealed with better cabin climate control. But you can always close off the outside air intake (middle slider to the left I think). Think about adding a pine-tree sh...

Maybe I'm crazy, but

Do these cars have a much better fresh air intake/vent system than most cars. I've daily driven other cars without air conditioning where you need to use a cowl venting system for interior airflow, but I don't remember the smells of the exterior being so vivid. I mean I can smell everything; exhaust...

WTB - Front Spoiler/Air Dam '83 633 US

Would love to upgrade my 83 633 to include the lower air dam/spoiler. Please let me know if anyone has one along with the brackets. I'm not too worried about paint or minor cracks. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Water Leaking from another spot

Thanks Ken. The attaining was actually a wet spot that I dried out with a hair dryer. We had a lot of salt on the roads earlier this week and I thought I'd try to run the car through an automatic washer for a quick bottom blast. That won't be happening again. I'll check the sun roof again but i thin...

Anyone know if these seams create a conduit for water to the headliner? I've been recording the realoem pictures and is hard to tell.

Water Leaking from another spot

So I addressed the glove box and under dash leaks and now have a new leak. What is my best method to address these leaks? Should I pumps some sealant into these seams? I know it currently isn't my sunroof as I've poured water through the drains and measured the output and it's all there. Thanks for ...

Re: Car just died on me

Great that you got it sorted. Did you try to just bridge the broken wires ie. no resistor in place ? The resistor was a mod introduced due to poor fuels causing cold idling problems. Surely not the case these days ? When I 1st found the resistor/wire breakage I used alligator clips/wire to create a...

Re: Car just died on me

BTW for this kind of resistor installation, I'd suggest it would be a good policy to extend the flexible wire and then solder the resistor to the wires whilst 'doubled back' on itself, and lashed to the wires with tape. This way the resistor ends and their solder joints would not see anything like ...

Glad you had enough of a pigtail to re-connect. Barely enough. Not the cleanest solder job I've done but they were shiny and solid. Ralph,

Thanks for weighing in.I'm thinking my fuel delivery is good, but we'll conduct a volume check. I'm leaning towards an air leak and going to go through the vacuum system with a fine tooth comb tomorrow night.
