OK, who was screaming up 84 towards Skyline - 9/1
Me and the missus were coming down from Skyline Blvd on 84 around 5:15 in the afternoon on Monday, Labor Day, and what do we see but a 6er haulin' ass up the hill, in a hurry
Appeared to be a Euro model, possibly dark green in color (GASP ) and may have had gold wheels, as we were coming around a corner and there simply wasn't enough time to get a good look
Hoping you are on the board, as this appeared to be a very nice example, for the second or 2 that I saw her
Then, yesterday on my way home from work on 101 North about 6:15 and I come up on an 88/89 model in Bronzit, appeared to be in OK condition
The driver never looked over, so I didn't get a chance to give him the thumbs up
Once again, if you're on the board, please identify yourself

Just returned from a vacation in Minnesota. Tuesday afternoon (9/9/14) I spotted a Grey e24 heading northbound on Highway 55 in St. Paul near the MSP Airport. No side trim, and no signs of any rust from what I could see. I was driving a Kia Optima Hybrid rental car going the opposite way.
I've been to Minnesota several times. This is my first encounter with a 6-er there. A few 5s, more 3s, and quite few Xs.

Tried to catch one this morning . . .
So I'm in the green shark heading to work, sitting at a traffic light and I see the unmistakable roofline of a 6er pulling into a company parking lot
This was on the corner of Montague Expressway and River Oaks Parkway, and I pull in after the light changes green, trying to catch the owner
Missed him (or her ) of course, but here's the details
88/89 vintage US version 635, black, no truck spoiler, chromed wheels that appeared to be from an 8 series
Once again, I hope you are on the board and will come forward and introduce yourself
For the life of me, I cannot BELIEVE how many 6ers have been spotted in this thread, and not ONE person has ever stepped up and said, "Hey, that's me "
I guess there's more of us owners out there than we think, come on outa the closet

Saw a shark parked along a street in Vielle Briode , Auvergne , France just last week. It is a silver colour with Euro stripes, yellow French headlights.. No trunk badge so couldn't tell if a 628, 633 or 635. I took some photos and will post them when I get back home.

I keep forgetting; but on or around the twentieth at Kaiser, while parking to p/u some meds, I parked headlight to headlight, except one stall away to an '85 or so red six. I left before him/her too.

Today, 10/6/14 I saw a 1981 olive green 6er at the Autozone on Pico just east of La Cienega and spoke w/the owner -Henry- for about 5 minutes. It's an auto, in pretty good nick and I told him to take a look here but I forgot to mention Saturday's SoCal Vintage BMW meet at Woodley park darn it!
First in a while that wasn't going the other way in heavy traffic.

I stopped by the BMW CCA "Cars & Coffee" in Moraga, CA yesterday and saw a silver 1989 635CSi. Bill and others were just leaving for a run on San Pablo Dam Road.
As I was driving through Orinda for a lunch stop on the way home, I encountered a Black 635 and exchanged waves with the driver.
I estimate approximately 200-250 cars at the Blackhawk Auto Museum Cars & Coffee last Sunday. Maybe 10% were Bimmers. There were 3 Z8's (one an Alpina) and just my E24.

On the way to Recreation Park in El Segundo to give my cousin a tennis lesson,
I saw a black six parked in I think, the Chevron parking lot west of Sepulveda on El Segundo Blvd?
I wanted to pull a U-turn but, I was late.

I really like the wheels on that silver bmw (on the top of this page). I've looked closely, and they aren't on here http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/ . Anyone know? I think they match the car very well.clipper47 wrote:Saw a shark parked along a street in Vielle Briode , Auvergne , France just last week. Probably had the damn no-start syndrome...Pod wrote:Since I haven't seen one on the roads around here for years, I was elated to see one on the TV yesterday afternoon. I was watching "Inner Space" (1987) and I'm sure I saw a brief shot of the villain's black or dark blue example being towed away for a parking infringement

Driving onto the 55 at Lincoln it caught my eye parked at a gas station on the corner with a flat bed tow truck parked behind it waiting for the owner. I checked it out, (sorry no pictures) and killed a little time talking with the tow truck driver waiting for the owner to show, but after 10 minutes I had to go. The car was in very good condition, probably a respray, with a very clean black interior with electric recaro seats. Very nice looking example.
Considering the recent posts to this thread, I wonder what the deal is with red 6ers either on transports or waiting for transport on a tow truck.....

Zinnoberrot High Line
Going back to my post of April 2nd, this car is now for sale on ebay. So I went to have a look - its only 3 miles from my home. Needs quite alot of work and is significantly overpriced in my opinion. But who knows, if it fails to sell it may end up in my collection
As I wasn't able to take my own car, I was delighted to stumble across this Highline M635CSi at last weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed. The odometer read an astonishingly low 17,100 miles. I didn't have much time to have a really close look and assess its condition, but it did appear very clean and tidy. Unfortunately, the driver had left the lights on. The car wasn't there the next day so I guess the battery wasn't too badly drained.
Chassis number 0760499 I believe. It's the car that featured on the cover of Total BMW Magazine in May 2013.

Saw this 635 in Pacific Beach, CA, that looked pretty clean, Interior beige leather in older condition. Front license plate reads "Alpina" but looks stock otherwise. No Owner around but it was parked on a residential street for 2 days , so must be a local.
