Second Request For Rear Seat Removal

Post by GripGreg »

Will anyone let me know the trick to removing the rear seats, please.
I don't have the rear a/c unit. Gherman is an '82 Euro. E12 chassis.
Thanx in Advance (again), :-? Greg

Place your hands under the front of the seat and pull up. You might have to wiggle it, or push in a little, but it should come right up.

+1...those screws can be hidden under flaps of carpet. Two per side, right under the nose of the seat on the "kick panel."

Yep, two screws on either side underneath the flaps. Then each one should slip out pretty easily.

On the vertical bulkhead below the rear seats are 4 flaps cut into the carpet (2 under each seat). Remove the screws underneath these flaps and

the seats just lift out.
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

Does the rear seat pop out as a unit or are there separate units?

Do I need to remove the seats to get to the top of the shock towers for a shock replacement. If I don't is it just as easy to do a shock replacement?

Rear "buckets" come out separately leaving center armrest console in place.

Many post have been made on rear shock removal. Here is one but many others are available by search:
