Rarest 635 and why.

Ugly wheels? Well, you can put a positive spin on those rims by noting they must be the easiest rims to clean! One swipe does it all! The wheels in question are German made Centra Type VI, 16x7 et11 & 16x8 et24...same as the staggered Alpina rims. "Unique is what we seek and bizarre is what we are".

Its a quite old topic, but does anyone know the producer of the rear body kit below the bumper?
I'm searching for a rear bodykit for a Cs/1 by using the original Eu bumper. Any further ideas? One possibilty is the oem m technic kit, but searching for further solutions.
Thanks

Re: Rarest 635 and why.
It just dawned on me why that Observer Coupe is so off-putting (beside the hideous wheels)....they got rid of the Hofmeister kink!

Re: Rarest 635 and why.
The Rarest would have to be a Alpina B8 6 series as there was only a handful built.
Okay its not a 635CSi but a 633Csi
Or the Alpina B7s if we are just talking 635s.
What about the TWR version of the Alpina 633CSi Halmark. Yes again a 633 but very rare.

Re: Rarest 635 and why.
I'm happy to be corrected but Alpina B8 E24's are not recognised by Alpina as 'Production cars' as they were conversions carried out to previously driven customers cars, not factory conversions on a brand new chassis.
The rarest of all Production Alpina's is generally recognised to be an E24 though, the pre-facelift B9 3.5 with just two examples produced.
Other E24 Alpina's are pretty numerous though, with 75 facelift B9 3.5's, 44 B10 3.5's, 153 pre-facelift B7 Turbo Coupes, 130 facelift B7 Turbo Coupes (110 non-Kat and 20 Katalyser cars) and 30 B7S Coupes.
The Sytner made Alpina E24's are poorly recorded by numbers, with B9 3.5's, B10 3.5's and even B11 3.5's having been offered on both unused and used chassis's, so who knows really?

What about the B2 as well as they where called Alpina 630CS.
B9 would as you say have to be one of the rarest of them for sure.
JPS E24 very rare also, its so hard but at the end of the day soon all our daily E24s will become rare LOL.

Do you know how many 5 speed highline's they made?tschultz wrote:The rarest would be an '88/'89 (m30b35) 5 speed as they didn't make many of those 635's, most were highline autos.
More rare are the alpina and hartge cars (technically they were tuned 635's).

Re: Rarest 635 and why.
Neither the E24 B8 or E24 B2 are listed as Production Cars by Alpina, so conversions really, as were all the other early cars such as E3's, E9's and any E10's.Ozibimmer wrote:

There was a thread many years ago about the E24 Factory Race prepared chassis numbers which are again very small numbers.

Re: Re:
Almost impossible to tell really as the chassis numbers were in the same range and sequence from the 1982 facelift to production completion in 1988/9, so didn't change for the Highline cars.ONO5OH wrote:Do you know how many 5 speed highline's they made?tschultz wrote:The rarest would be an '88/'89 (m30b35) 5 speed as they didn't make many of those 635's, most were highline autos.

Re: Re:
There's been one doing the rounds on eBay recently which the seller describes as 1/59 examples. I don't know if this correct, but that figure rings a bellONO5OH wrote:Do you know how many 5 speed highline's they made?tschultz wrote:The rarest would be an '88/'89 (m30b35) 5 speed as they didn't make many of those 635's, most were highline autos.
