I didn't think it was any different that working on my old e28....

My 85 e23 had a early HP22 non electric auto transmission so no wiring to splice into. It was plug and play with the existing dash harness.

Only hard part was finding the parts..... 265 tranny, correct drive shaft, cross brace, pedals, shift console, and shifter surround.

Nice fleet. It's actually quite surprising how small the E24 looks there against the other two vehicles.

I have seen it my self, if I park the E24 next to the E23, the E23 looks massive compared to the 6'er :-)

Some late shots after installing the BBS front Airdam.....Also discovered that there were very limited number of 745i executive edition (some say 386 others say 1085).

The front air Dam looks great

I’m actually getting finally my Miller ear chip fitted, and I scored a set of bbs rs 16x8 wheels. They look nice on it. Had to use 25mm F and 35mm R spacers so they would fill the guards.

Next it goes in to get fixed as when in a workshop someone reversed into the front. Only minor but annoying. The roof had some ordinary paint going on so may get this painted while I’m there.

Not sure if anyone saw this one, but it needs rescuing if anyone fancies E23 Alpina (maybe) style?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/bmw-735i-alp ... 3053386056?

Usual story of bodywork etc.

I was lucky I got it off a Japan import e23 where the guy likes the stock look... I believe it looks nicer like this.

bumping this thread after over 3 years, hope you all guys are safe and doing well. I sold my e23, e24 and e31 in 2018 and felt a big loss ( I replaced with a fleet of Mercedes Benz W201, w124, w126).

I got my hands on a 1985 BMW E23 745i Japan import that I am currently fixing, however, I am having hard time decoding its vin and getting its build sheet with option codes. I will appreciate any help that can be offered.

vin: WBAFJ910008752080

thanks in advance, and hope you guys stay safe.
