First of all, glad you seem to be (physically) OK.
Second, THAT TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!
Third, the damage looks repairable. The bumper, front spoiler, and nose piece will be the PITA's....

Outch, that hurts!
I hear you, there are way too many drivers on the streets who have no idea about driving, every little "situation" makes them hit the brakes...then again, maintaining the correct safety distance is also important. Hope nothing happened to you or anyone else and that you get this fixed soon, doesn't look like a cheap fix though 😞

That Really Sucks

Post by Ralph in Socal »

I'll pitch in a set of Kidneys to help start the repairs. Maybe even a nose if you can't find one close to you. Hope you're OK otherwise.

Forgive me from being sarcastic, but perhaps your brakes would be top of the list for overhaul ?

Ouch. That sucks!

I can pitch in some parts too...nothing much, but I have L&R headlight buckets if you need them. My front bumper is completely rusted out but the front valance still has some useful parts. I might also be able to cut the Euro bumper brackets out if you need them. They're from my '82 Euro, not sure if that makes any difference.

You are forgiven. It was totally my fault, I rear ended someone. The brakes worked fine but the ABS did not. It was on my list :(

The accident was my fault... I was on the interstate and going just under the speed limit, came around a limited vis curve and traffic was stopped.

Doesn't make it hurt any less. Looks like I might have a line on an 87 manual, so maybe I can at least get the suspension and wheels off mine before I scrap her.

Let me know before you scrap her. I seem to remember this being a very clean car and it is repairable.

Will do. The money is an issue, I can get another running 6er for less than it costs to fix mine... sad but true.

Guy on Mye28.com forum under the non-affilited thread page three that has two E24's for sale one for a grand and one for $900.

The cars are listed on Houston CL.

Glad you were not seriously hurt.

Good Luck

Please don't scrap an e24, unless too far gone. Try to sell it as a package if you can't fix this.
It loks like a "clean" damage, which can be repaired nicely.

I have purchased a nice 86 E28 and have taken the Bilsteins and wheels off the 6 for it.

I am going to try and sell her, sucks but it is what it is. If I get no offers, I'm going to part it out.
