Car repair victory dance

Post by Da_Hose »

Our poor little Saturn LW200 threw the timing chain just about two years ago, and has been sitting there looking sad. The car was in way too good a condition to scrap it, but taking it to a shop for a cylinder head rebuild was more than it is worth. So that meant I would need to do the work, but since I started grad school just about two years ago as well, spare time is in short supply.

Well I finally was able to make the time to put on the freshly rebuilt head two weeks ago and despite low compression in cylinder 3, two weeks of driving successfully completed the monitor cycles in the ECU. With my OBD2 scanner showing a green light on the smog functions, I took old Stuart to the smog shop and he passed with flying colors. WOOHOO! \:D/

It always feels great when you finish a major repair like that. I just had to share the triumph. 8)
