I am really jealous! I'd love to attend the 24 hours once before I die. I am going to watch it on television and on line, as much of it as I can stay awake for. I've done that many times, but I don't have the stamina I used to have. Done the same for the Daytona 24 hours for years, but it doesn't have the allure of the Le Mans race.

I think we'd all enjoy some reports from someone seeing it first-hand as a spectator and not just the broadcaster's point of view.

It's difficult to see exactly what is going on as the circuit is so long and any view is rather limited. Hoping to go back to the track to see night racing into dawn later.

From the broadcast, both highly touted Toyota LMP-1 entries are out. One was mechanical failure and the other I believe was damage from a tire failure after hitting a piece of carbon fiber debris. The rear tire's remains thrashed the bodywork and piping underneath as they tried to limp it back to the pits. It severed an oil line, causing a small fire. They had to abandon the car.
