Jack assembly pics
Does or can anyone take a pic of how the heck does the jack, wheel stop, lug wrench all tuck into the compartment where everything is as it should be and secured.
Didn't pay attention when I took it all out now I don't remember how it all fits back in that hole and secured with clamp n wing nut.
Should be simple enough but I give up!
Thanks

Re: Jack assembly pics
I started a thread a while ago because I was looking to buy all those pieces for my car. I've accumulated most of them, but I'd still like to see some pics of how it's assembled in the side of the trunk.

Sometimes free hosting sites limit the number of views you're allowed, but I'm not sure that's what's happening here. I have a paid site which never does that. If you can email me the original pics, instead of the links, I'll try again. Here's all I see now, both in your posts and PM:

Re: Jack assembly pics
Nice pic Steve, looks like that hoopdy that holds the wheel chock is a later addition, don't have that in my '80
I looked in the Owner's Manual, hoping to find some details on how these items are stowed, didn't find much of anything but I did find this bit about if you have a flat and have to change a tire, which I found rather humorous
I've got the green beast at work today, think I'll take a look during my lunch break, although that compartment is full of other shit and the jack, chock and lug wrench are not likely stowed correctly anyway

Re: Jack assembly pics
According to the BMW pic Bobbo the jack handle is up and not down . That means I've be n putting the jack upside down in compartment.I tried that n didn't seem to work with bracket but I'll try that again this weekend. My wheel chock was on wheel whell wedged in by jack I know that but I do seem to remember that strap like Steve S m6 n wondered what the? So that make sense we shall c if I can put this puzzle together but I know another thing my bracket with wing nut is nothing like Steve 's and it seems his handle knob is facing down too not like pic.

Re: Jack assembly pics
Of course, my car would have to be different, but I got it figured out. The wheel chock goes in first, toward the front, and the jack pins it in place. I don't think I have the proper clamp, but it works, as long as I use a nut with smaller wings:
Note that the power antenna is not on the usual side, either.
