Chasing Classic Cars

Post by WelshBentleyBoy »

Just had a screening in the UK of the latest episode which featured a 1987 635m with 6000 miles which he sold at Amelia Island for $95000 hammer price. Claimed as a world record.

The car looked immaculate and Wayne Carini waxed lyrical about the car and their future classic potential. The only way is up!!

I think Wayne has the best job in the world. He reminds me a lot of me. He always buys at 15% more than he thought he would and then sells for 15% less than he thought he'd get. Every car he sees is "cool" but the other star of the show is Roger the mechanic who can get anything going.I wish he lived near me.

Brilliant late night viewing!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Paul. I've looked up when it's next on air (in the UK) and my SKY search tells me that Series 9, Episode 10 is back on Discovery Turbo at 7.00pm on November 13th.

Needless to say I have pressed the "R" button on my SKY remote.

My only disappointment with that episode is that Wayne was never seen road-testing the car, something he does with almost every car.

He had to buy two Lincoln-Mercury land barges in the deal to get the 6er. One of them looked ready for the crusher.

He said, in an episode I watched recently, ............."Alright baby, turn your head and cough. We're taking a look!" (such a good one-liner, I wrote it down  )

He seems to be appearing more regularly in the shows, but I guess we're a few years behind in the UK? Wayne needs to be careful, or he'll get upstaged by his mechanic

I only get the free-to-air channels, but it's something to look forward to!
