Hi everybody, I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Nigel and I live in West Sussex. UK.
I have owned my 635csi auto (built Dec 1986) for the last 17 years, a daily driver for 5 years before I took it off the road
due to worn suspension and rust ! It stood outside under a cover for 7 years ( which did it no favors) until 5 years ago when I realized that if I didn't make a start on its major restoration (body welding, respray, all running gear, fuel tank, both pumps and lines, all new brakes etc) it would never get done!
5 years of Weekends and Bank Holidays on it is now finished and just recently passed the MOT so I can now start driving it again. I was a little nervous about how good it would be (looking back through rose coloured glasses things were always
better than reality!) and how it would stack up against the massive improvements in modern cars.
To my amazement and great pleasure it was much better! The all new struts, springs, shocks, control arms, links and bushes transformed my high mileage car into a tight factory-fresh groundhog!
Now the funny thing is that although you don't know me I know of most of your senior contributors very well as I have scanned all the posts over the last 5 years and gained so much useful information and knowledge . To all you guys out there a 'Very Big Thank You' from me! NigelC
