Finally back home.

Post by DRiley »

I sold my 1980 Cypress Green 633CSi 12 years ago and have regretted it ever since. My son was perusing craigslist and came across one that looked familiar and sent me the link. Knowing that there are not many Cypress Green e24s I was pretty sure it was mine. He haggled with the owner and we picked it up yesterday (had to trailer it as it was not running). Only went 30,000 miles in the last 12 years but those were some hard miles... Pretty sure it sat outside for some time.

My son is a mechanic and plans to bring it back to life and eventually repaint it back to it's original glory (hopefully sourcing the correct Cypress Green this time Bob!). My son was 10 years old when I sold it so he credits his love of cars to this vehicle (and grandpa's collection of Porsche).

Regardless to say, this car will never leave the family again!

We will be on this board frequently, going over tech articles and the Parts For Sale section.

Glad to have my dream car back, even if it is now my son's car (he would have eventually inherited it with my Land Cruiser anyway).

Cheers!

Riley

Riley, Brian "warned" me that you were coming back to the fold, earlier today

So let me be the first to say, welcome to the madness, once again =D>

I do recall that your color was just a bit "off", but no matter, it's all good \:D/

And just to show you that the green shark is still holding her own and is as shiny as ever, here's a pic for ya

Once again, welcome back

Thanks Bob! She is looking as good as ever!

My son is asking how many of the Cypress Green 6s made it over here in the US?

Thanks, proud papa \:D/

Ya know, many have tried to find out how many of this or that color combination were made, only to find out that this information is very hard to come by, if at all :-k

Heck, even finding how many TOTAL were made in a given year can be difficult to find

BTW, I've still got a copy of your original window sticker, lemme know if you want it back :-"

You may not recall, but our VIN's are only 4 apart, or was it 3 :-?

You have no idea how cool it will be for my son to see the original window sticker. He has a 1986 Toyota Corolla Trueno (AE86) drift car that he has the original window sticker for and has it framed.

Thanks again Bob!
