Been watching the auctions - this really bugs me!

So it's "auction" season here in the states, lots taking place almost every week =D>

Gorgeous cars and trucks, of course, but there's one thing that takes place after the bidding that's been bugging the shit outa me

The guys that move the vehicle off the auction block, usually push on the body of the car or truck, not the bumpers ](*,)

I can't even imagine if one of these hulks managed to cause a dent in the bodywork, or worse, think Corvette, for instance :-k

Some of the cars appear to be moving on their own, presumed that they are running

But why don't all motor off on their own power (I know, exhaust fumes =; ) and why push those that are not running, on the sheetmetal and not the bumpers [-X

Please help me clear up the mystery :-({|=

Would you want to exert that much pressure on your back stooped that low on

a large number of cars?

I don't think a dent could happen even if they punched the trunk.

However, it would show some respect to the owners if at least they wore gloves.

My $.02

Fair points, guess I've never seen or heard of a car actually getting damaged at one of these auctions :-k

The could just hire shorter doods #-o

Kidding, of course :-"

Think they do wear gloves though, guess I'll have to look closer, next auction :-?

I've often thought the same. I would imagine that although steel-bodied cars may take the pressure, surely those aluminium-bodied ones could get dented!

Pod, glad to see that at least somebody also noticed this =D>

Guess it's not an issue, otherwise it would have been dealt with a long time ago
