Another one bit the dust

Post by Hefeweizen »

Sad news! I got hit on the rear side today and the damage is too much to save Fritz. The only good thing is that nobody got hurt in this accident. The rear end shifted over that you can't even open the passenger door anymore. :-( still drives but I smell exhaust fumes so I deem it unsafe. Now back to square one and looking for a feasible 6er.

Hi Rainer

Very sorry to hear this. You must be rather upset - I know I would be.

Glad no-one was hurt. Minor traffic incidents are a fact of life, but when it happens to something special (in many respects our own Sixers are irreplaceable), it can be soul crushing.

How many years have you owned the car?

Thanks for your kind words. It has been 11 years and it just starts to sink in how much work, effort, blood, and sweat has been put into this car and it is all over. Yes your are right, it is upsetting for sure. Good thing is that I still have Igor my project car who gets more attention now. I do have the memories and pictures at http://www.house-calls.us/BMW

Exactly my nightmare. Out enjoying my vintage tin and some idjit ruins it, no fault of your own.

Sorry for your loss, Rainer. #-o :o

Ranier,

Wow, so sorry to hear, that is a real shame after all of your time at restoration efforts.
Are you thinking of parting out?

Best wishes,
Jay

There are a couple of options I am taking into consideration. One would be parting out and the other is just selling as is. Right now I have the front world bumper set up for sale and see how it goes. I could also just let the whole car go would be another option.
