Number Plates.

Post by Kaotiq635 »

Been thinking about changing the plates on my 6er

They have an online create a plate web tool

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/myPlates/olps ... =createNew

Part of me say leave it with what it has, part of me thinks a change could be fun.

What do you think ?

Saw a red MX-5 driven by a rather good looking brunette the other day with the plates FEM-80T (Fembot)

Damn! FW-190 is taken, any other German WW2 planes you can think of with BMW engines ?

Cheers,
Iain.

Very good Iain.

I have tried this site & intend to order a plate soon.

http://www.aplates.com

You will note on this site that you can have a Shark in the background across your plate - how cool is that?!

Also, in terms of UK law, this firm are ok with you to lay out the plate as you like.

For example, on my '84 635, the registration is A635 JRF

I can make it like this, A 635 JRF, amongst other changes.

Sadly here in NSW the plates have to be issued by the RTA (govt authority) they get very upset if you even put a non-approved numberplate cover on the car.

The cynical among us (moi?) think they need to upgrade the OCR software they use to issue speeding fines from the speed cameras infesting the country.

If these cameras are for road safety why are they on dead straight roads with good visibility, either flat or downhill ? :?

Hmm, sounds like the UK story of speedcameras as well.

This website has found many friends in the UK, the site owner challenges authority all the time with regards to speed camera's, government statistical justification etc! Good on him I say.

Hope you find this of interest.

Is this the oldest thread reamination ever? Just saw it whilst doing a search for a reg.no! Some names of bigcoupe members from the past are on it.

Anyway, about 40 years ago, there used to be a MK2 Escort in the Orpington area with the plate 150 D.
