I've never seen an 'H' plate E24, either 635 or M635, it must be one of the last ones built. Is it going to Cyprus too?Motorhead wrote:For those interested...011 recently sold and is being exported to Cyprus.Motorhead wrote:I was visiting someone this morning and they have an early M635CSi VIN 0760011
The buyer of 011 also has an H registration M635 Highline in black here in UK, although I've not seen it nor know its VIN (yet).

No, the H one is staying here. He'll have an M6 in UK and Cyprus for each of his homes, as you do.Hammerhead wrote: I've never seen an 'H' plate E24, either 635 or M635, it must be one of the last ones built. Is it going to Cyprus too?
It must certainly be one of the last sold. I'll try and get the VIN and see it. Apparently it is very low mileage and will stay that way as it has been built into a room in the house and can't be got out without knocking down walls.

Now that's what I call a totally focussed collector! A driving car in Cyprus and an exhibit in The UK. I wonder if it will turn up as a "barn find" in 50 years or so?Apparently it is very low mileage and will stay that way as it has been built into a room in the house and can't be got out without knocking down walls.

Just spied the UK M brochure cover on Ebay:
CLICKY
Could this car be #359? It's a late pre-Highline model with dechroming but hard to tell if it's Diamond Black or the special order Blue Black that 359 was painted.

New member so thought I would perform an amazing thread resurrection from the past :)

Diamond Black, 124k miles, Original Condition, !5 previous owners!
The car was my dads and he spent thousands after he picked it up as i believe it had quite a hard life. He went through the list of items such as engine rebuild, timing chain, fuel tank, wings etc... so it was in pretty good condition. One Christmas a drunk driver ploughed into it so BMW put a new front end on it which came to £7500 on insurance.
Ashamed to admit that i haven't cared for her in last 5 years more than changing fluids and running her every month to keep things loose. However now have a garage and some more time and ££ so have spent the last month reading this forum and changing brake and coolant fluids etc. Got some Waxoyl and fe123 and underseal coming.. so will get her sealed before she comes out of the garage.
List of things to do is: Oil leak from rear of engine (nightmare to identify as seems to come from somewhere around exhaust header / piston 6 / under heatshield where i cant see it)... slight rust on nearside front wing at lower seam but can be saved... the most concerning thing is i have bubbling on nearside rear arch and the lip of the arch is gone, really hope the rot hasnt set in deeper than the external arch - will get it into the bodyshop in the New Year. Fingers crossed its not gone into the sill etc.
So anyway, hello and number 160 is now identified and still on the road.

Great story and first post, and welcome to the best E24 forum.
I have car 166 and it has similar miles on it but I spent time and money doing a thorough restoration two winters ago.
Best wishes on putting in right and kudos to your Dad's excellent taste.

Thanks for the warm welcome gentlemen.
Have to say that this forum is a pretty special place from what i have seen so far. Never seen such a helpful community & forum and the advice seems to flow free yet still have quality too. Reckon if i can get the tools, then add knowledge from here along with a healthy dose of bravery and perseverance then the car will be good in a few months.
Dad also had a personalised plate for it however its not on the car right now - what do you guys think of it, worth putting back on or should i stick with the 'C' prefix standard? Plate is 'NV M6'.... thoughts?
Have a good Christmas / Festive break all.

Re: RHD M635 Register
Lovely looking car Ben. I'm not sure if you're aware that the M635 (before the Highline/World bumper era) had a different front spoiler to the rest of the range; your M635 has lost the deeper M635 front spoiler with the three Motorsport ribs on the lower edge and it has been replaced by the standard 635CSi item.
I only mention it because if you are intending to spend any money restoring the car it will be well worth sourcing the correct item.

Re: RHD M635 Register
I am learning stuff already - thanks indeed and ill send a PM Ron.
Plan is to get her into bodyshop early next year to get a opinion on the rust rear arch and also front wing along the 'crease' where the bumper sits... Would be a good time to swap out the front bumper.
Anyway i am hijacking this thread so will stop rambling :) Will try to get some photos of the rust this weekend and post in a new topic for some opinions but know until its investigated properly its anyones guess as to how deep the rear arch goes.

Garry is still around in Melbourne. We arranged the digital oil temperature and pressure gauges from Roland in Germany recently.

Hi , newish member, but just became the owner of a very clean M635csi , #194
It's just being registered here in Ireland . It comes with a very comprehensive history from 1996 on , unfortunately nothing before that. It only has 30600 miles on the clock! if anyone knows the car would delighted to hear about it, good or bad!

Hi Les, Glad you went to the forum. So it is a Zinnober car with Black interior. Do you have any invoices from the South London area? Maybe you could let us know the UK registration number it was on please?les wrote:Hi , newish member, but just became the owner of a very clean M635csi , #194

Sounds a great car Les, and indeed very low mileage if all correct.

Re: RHD M635 Register
Hi Pod
The uk plate was c327 KOD. Not having the early history obviously is a cause of concern, but the engine is good and its rust free, the interior is very clean. It has been resprayed , not a perfect job, but having a clean rust free chassis and good engine goes along way

In choosing a zinnober red with black 30,000 mile M635CSi, you have commendably shown yourself to be a man of exquisite taste Les, welcome to the forum. This is undoubtedly the very best source of knowledge, support and appreciation for E24s to be found anywhere.
