Kos, is the September 4th Sharknose meet at the Ace Cafe still going ahead as planned? If so, do you have a list?

Re: Save the Day - 4th Sept 2016
I completely agree with you, John.
I'm not long back from the Ace Café. For me a it presented a rare but very welcome opportunity to meet fellow E24 owners, some of whom, whilst I have established a degree of familiarity on Bigcoupe, had never had the good fortune to meet in the flesh. Today was a chance to correct that.
In total, I'd guess there were 16-18 E24s present at one stage or another, and it was great to see such a variety of cars; original and modified, garage queens and working daily-drivers as well as owners young and old. Hearing Brucey explain the technicalities of the LPG installation in his warts-and-all-635, was no less compelling than listening to Kos voice the emotional attachment he has to his breath-taking car.
On top of that, there were E21s, an O2, an E12, E23s, E28s and even some E30 interlopers to enjoy.
And for all of this, we have to extend a big thanks to Kos, without whom none of this would have happened.
Good work, fella.

Gents
firstly i would like to thank you all for coming today, secondly i'd like you thank you all for your appreciation. But without you the members, days like today would not be a success.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the day. I had a great time and it was a real privilege to meet you all. As i said to Bruce and a few others, and as mr soperman said it was awesome to see such a varied group of cars. It not about having the shiniest car its about the love we have for these cars.
I do feel that having the other Sharknosed BMW's there helped. The e21 boys were ecstatic to see 8 e21's in the same place, combine that with the 16-18 e24's and the 2 e23's, 4 e28',s 2 e12's, 1 '02 touring and the few e30's i snuck in including the 2 M3's i made it an awesome tun out. Maybe this is the way forward, to have an annual shark day at the Ace cafe ??
The feedback i had from all is that this should be an annual thing. The start time was good for all, more so who travel from far (we had one lad come from sheffield in his e21, a 330 mile round trip ) didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn.
There's been a great response on social media as well, with lots of people disappointed that they missed it because they didn't know about it. That in part is maybe down to me somewhat limiting the exposure i gave it on forums and social media. But at the request of the Ace Cafe management i did not go overboard. The space is limited there to about 40-50 cars but for today that was ample. The fear for the cafe is that when events have too much attention it gets too busy and can attract idiots. The genuine fans who come may end up parking on the road and if there's an accident or incident it is upsetting and causes problems for the Ace Cafe with police and the local authority, not to mentions the heart break of having your pride and joy damaged. However, this is more of a problem with evening events. But as we can retain control with who gets in by means of a "pre book only" event, our cars are always going to be safe inside. The Ace management were happy with us, they are happy with the organisation from me by proving them with lists of cars attending and assisting with marshalling. They are also happy that you guys spent some money on food and drink and well behaved. So, we have been invited back a have a date or 2 in the diary for next year and will confirm which one we are going with pretty soon.
thinking further ahead into the future i do not see why we cannot have a larger event like the sharknose meeting in holland. Yes that draws in people from germany, belgium, france and the UK but if its opened up to all BMW's up to the e31 it could be a cracking event with good numbers. But thats something to look at in the future.
back to today (or yesterday now) the only cars we were missing were an e9 & e3 and a few more '02's. But with the BMW car club happy so support and mail the respective registers and with some of us having friends with this cars i am sure we can get some down for the next meet up
anyway, I've just got in from work. I need to go through my photos and get them posted up on here for you all to enjoy
Thank you all again for being part of the UK's first Sharknose Meeting
