I like yellow bavarian beauty. Sounds aristocratic.

Correct our mini is the BMW varient

Yellow with white wheels, roof and mirrors. Glass sunroof, full leather, upgraded sound system, heated seats, Chili pack, Cd Changer.

My other half wants an old classic mini in Pink!!!!!!!!

The only way i am going to get in one of those is with no roof and a full roll cage.

Hi, I am new to the 6 Series scene, but will be going to the Bimmerfest as it is not far from me. What does a Bimmerfest consist of ?

I am currently in the process of looking to buy one, so would look forward to meeting owners for advise or maybe see any cars that might be for sale.

The bimmerfest is just a big indoor BMW show.

It will consist of exhibits from the BMW car club owners of interesting cars and a number of BMW only specialists.

There may be some cars for sale in the show and there will most likely be more for sale in the car parks outside.

When buying a six forget mileage and buy on condition. You want to avoid rust.

Wings cost ?500 + fitting each, jacking points, rear arches and inner wings are problem areas. Engines and mechanicals are strong. However the youngest cars are now comming up to 20 years old so there will most likely be issues with all cars. You want to see plenty of evidence of work done and reciepts. Buy the owner so to speak.

Also bear in mind that they can be polished up to look very good when in fact they are not. They will of all had respray work at some point as these cars over achieve in the rusting department.

Suspension and ball joints oftern wear out quickly as the cars are heavy. They are not exspensive t fix, but a good owner should be able to demonstrate recent work in this area.

I hope this helps. I won't be there to advice you, but i am sure others will.

Thanks for that Sohlman, I am looking forward to Sunday. I will take your information on board. I am not too bad when it comes to DIY car repairs that are mechanical but body repairs are something else.

Be prepared to get on your hands and knees to see the sills and jacking points and have a poke around. For the front wings you can feel them by stuffing your hand in the wheel arch. You should be able to feel around in there. If there is lots of mud then there is lots of possibility for rust. Might be worth checking that it has not been waxoiled otherwise you will get very dirty.

I jet wash in hear on most washes.

Hi Ron, I will look out for you and your car and come and say hello on Sunday. Any advice, tips etc would be very helpful. I have seen two cars so far but have been put off by wheel arch, front wing and random rust scabs.

I actually live in a small village called Freeland, just outside of Witney. I Know Curbridge well though as my Skoda came from the local garage called Grey Gables.

You mentioned about the post and tickets. When I ordered my tickets I was told that they would be held at a kiosk for me.
