Hi guys,
Thanks for the comments. The bushes for the trailing arms are standard Bmw bushes. I did order eccentric Bmw bushes first. But the Bmw eccentric bushes are the same as the standard ones, you would still have to press them in. Then have the suspension lazer alignment checked and if adjustment was required you would have to press them out, rotate slightly then press back in and re-check. Didn't want to install the kit that you have to weld to the subframe to make it adjustable.
So decided to stick to the original bushed and hope for the best. To remove the old trailing arm bushes it's best to burn them out, then your left with the outside shell which I had to cut along it with a hacksaw.
The sizes of pipe used for the trailing arm tool are.
1, large diameter pipe outside diameter: 52mm. Inside diameter is 45mm and length 60mm.
2, Small diameter pipe outside diameter is : 43mm.
Inside diameter is : 38mm.
The subframe bush inserting tool diameters are.
1,the diameters of the pipe with the square plate welded to it with two guide lugs on it: outside diameter 77mm.
2, internal diameter: 69mm.
3, length including square plate: 58mm.
4, opposite pipe outside diameter: 76mm.
5,Internal diameter: 70mm.
6, length is : 46mm
7, 12mm diameter which is 250mm long.
The subframe extractor tool, used with the bearing puller is a bit rough but does the job. You just need the inside distance between the legs, the height of the legs, the thickness of the legs and drill a dimple in the middle of the top section to locate your bearing puller. You need to sit it between the cutouts around the edge of the subframe bush against the subframe housing. Your puller legs just fit on the edge of the old bush to be removed. I had to apply some heat to the old bush, to just get the rubber to melt slightly
1, distance between legs : 73mm.
2, Internal height of legs : 75mm.
3, legs thickness: 20mm.
