New brake lines done.

Post by Ronnie Wilson »

Well finally completed making up new rear brake lines with 4.75 Din flaring tool, straightening tool and bending pliers.
Bought all the tooling and one side of brake line from ebay.
Managed to obtain rear passenger side brake pipe from local Bmw dealer with both ends already flared and straighten it out using the tool and bend to the same as the original.
The flaring tool did the job, but when doing the second flare one of the 6mm locking down bolts sheared of. Luckily I managed to remove it and substitute it with a standard 6mm bolt.
If your just doing a couple of flares then its not to bad. But if i worked in a garage doing it regularly I would invest in a professional tool.
