Power Steering VS Brake Fluid

Hey Guys,

Im a bit confused with the brake/power steering system. I have a 87 L6 and am wondering where the Power Steering fluid goes, and where the Brake Fluid goes.

From what I gathered, the Power Steering canister is the metal can with the wingnut screw on top. And the Power steering reservoir is on top the the master cylinder. However I have seen diagrams where the metal canister is connected to the master cylinder by a hose?

So do I put power steering fluid in the metal canister and brake fluid in the reservoir above the master cylinder?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an owners manual (handbook) for your car?
If not then buy one.

The power steering/braking system uses ATF (automatic transmission fluid) in the tall round metal canister, is red in color
The braking system at the Brake Master Cylinder M/C is a small rectangular opaque plastic type box with a white plastic lid/switch.
It holds Brake fluid, which is clear.
Do not mix the fluids as brake fluid is very caustic.
