Converting LHD Auto To Manual But Have All RHD Parts

Post by Ozibimmer »

Hi Guys
I have a 1979 LHD Auto I want to convert to Manual and I have 3 RHD Manual Series 1 cars for parts at my shop. Now the problem is that is there anything I need from a LHD to do the Job to make it look factory.
All my parts cars are Factory RHD cars but I feel I may need parts from a LHD to complete the job. At work we have done over 10 conversions without a problem but here is Australia for example we have twin Brake Boosters where the LHD car has single which I love BTW.
I know the drive train is fine and have a LSD side loader, Dogleg 265 , Tailshaft and shifter will all fit no problem but as far as clutch master cylinder, Pedal box, amd lines and reservoir from a RHD fit straight up?
Any help would be great.

IIRC (do check the ETK...) only a LHD clutch pedal will fit to the LHD auto pedal box, which can be converted to manual IIRC.

You will also have to make up special lines to feed the manual clutch, but all the brackets should be on the bodyshell already.

cheers

well I see only LHD applications for that PN

(click on the + buttons to see applications)

IIRC the RHD pedals are all offset to one side and the LHD pedals are not, or something. You may be able to convert to fit with a bit of cut and weld effort.

cheers
