SLS Pump Repair Question

Post by MSGGrunt »

After replacing the two suspension accumulators I noticed that I have a slight leak at one of the two pump "sensors". My questions is this, can I remove these from the pump without fluid from the reservoir leaking everywhere? I assume these have O-rings on them that could easily be replaced?

I still have a leak... It the switch circled in blue with the two connectors supposed to rotate? I have fluid leaking out between the brass body and the black plastic of the wire connections.

Real OEM shows this part NLA.

Help. I want to keep the car as original as possible and that means keeping a working SLS but... If parts cannot be had to maintain the system then I may be forced to replace it.

Advice?

Nope, it's supposed to be stationary, locked in place by the crimp that retains it. That is very similar to the oil pressure sensor at the back of the head, and same failure mode. The seal breaks down and oil seeps out.

Wow, not cheap huh? I guess there is a price in keeping a car like this original and I can see why others just gut the SLS all together.

This is just a pressure switch correct? There is no other switch out there that has the same size male thread and the same 115 bar "on/off" pressure values? I see there is a brake and oil pressure sensor of similar design but, presumably with different parameters of operation.
