Group A suspension some still avail

Post by TBM »

Hi guys..I thought I would share these photos with you. I was looking into installing something that was more radical yet tunable. Suffice it to say that these components are expensive like DTM E30 suspension is. Enjoy.

There is an outfit in England that replicated all the cast parts in CNC and the trailing arms as you see above. Front assembly with arms is 8500 Sterling. That does NOT include the adjustable "blade type" Roll bar.

You are correct sir! I didn't pull up his name readily.. I saw those pieces first on CHV engineering's web site and they sent me to them. I'm really weighing up the options. You need a new front cradle for the new mounting points along with a few other things.. Wont be cheap but ordering 5k worth of parts from BMW even at my prices doesn't yield much these days!

I want to contact them and find out if this can be a "fast road" set-up with the right damper valving and spring rates. I have a race car and I know that I don't want my sharks to ride like a race car.

My sentiments exactly. Most of the time the valving is way too harsh even for track days. Springs will be more harsh because of their size.. Its all careful considerations and measurements before you commit. I'm more interested in the Geometry that you can adjust with this stuff really. If you look at the inner mounting of the rear trailing arms is supposed to alleviate toe changes through suspension travel as much as possible. That also means you need to consider having the rear subframe welded up properly. Ask a lot of questions.
