Looking for any advice on upgraded sway bars to compensate of my larger 17" 090 BBS staggered wheels.

My stock setup is 19mm front and 16mm rear.

Seems pretty aggressive.

You may actually have 15.5mm on the rear! The 16mm rear is the US M6 set up, I believe.

From my experience, you'll need to weld in different mounts for the larger bars: I had clearance issues even with the US spec M6 22mm front. I had the 16mm rear and the car did handle very well indeed.

Real OEM shows a stock M635 Euro set up to be 25mm front and 18mm rear, like (some of the) E28 M5s, but I'd like to find out if any M635s actually had this set up. The E28 M5s with the thicker arbs had softer boge shocks rather than Bilstein.

I went with the IE sway bars on LOCUTUS. Needed to do some minor bracket welding to get the correct fit but no biggy. Have not run the car yet. Which reminds me, I have to crack on with my project, D'Oh.

not sure about the others buts for what its worth i didnt have to weld anything on the ST bars.

What size ST bars did you use?

We had some real good discussion about the effects of bar changes. Since I run staggered wheels, sticking with the 22mm front, and upgrading the rear sounded good. Installing the 18mm in the rear has worked out really well for me.

And while it's true that no additional welding or strengthening is "required", my Dinan adjustable camber rear subframe did come with reinforced mounting brackets for the rear bar

when i upgraded the sway bars on my e24 , the welds broke away so i had to reinforce them 2 times.

I have these and they came with reinforcements.

Definetly upgrade the rear with staggered. If u don’t have one already also install the rear strut brace.
