Dialed in the front end

Post by tgriffith009 »

Finally dialed in my suspension on the new car!

Oem Bmw idler arm, drag link
Lemoforder tie rods
Rebuilt and resealed gear box
e31 spechical lower control arms (yes these are sealed monoball bushings from the factory)
Moosehead engineering upper spherical control arms
ST M6 25mm and 20mm sway bars
Mye28.com sway bar bracket reinforcements front and rear

Have to say I have not felt a tighter steering old BMW in my life

where did you buy your ST sway bars?

who rebuilt your steering box?

Only ST I see is 22mmF and 16mmR

IIRC the 25mm ARB is a an E28 M5 part and was only fitted to those cars which were fitted with Boge shocks, not bilsteins (E28 M5 came with both sorts at different times). I have always supposed that the bilsteins were stiffer in roll anyway, because they have (and use differently) an integral bump stop.

cheers

its not harsh at all, shes stiff but I drive it on city streets in San Francisco every day and have no problem. Its the only way to drive a 635 in my opinion.

I bought the bars from a member on this board actually, they were only available from a group buy about 10 years ago on bigcoupe. Custom sizes where ST made a special larger bar for the m6. 3 hole adjustable front and solid mount rear. Im running them on the middle setting and its more than enough.\

The box was rebuilt by straight line steering in san jose ca. I had custom worm gears made as well, steering is about 15 percent quicker as well.
