M6 diff.
Just changed the differential fluid in my '88 U.S. M6. I used 2 Quarts of Red Line 75W90 Diff. gear lube. Now the car is exhibiting a groaning noise if I accelerate while turning from a stop. Did I use the wrong product, or should I add something else for the limited slip?
Re: M6 diff.
As I recall, the E24 M6 differential wants a GL-5 oil in a 75W-90 weight. So long as the oil you used does NOT have friction modifiers, it should be fine. Anything with moly., or some other additive designed to make things "slicker" is a no-no.

In the owners manual it gives the correct Diff Lube.tmoretta wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 1:04 am Just changed the differential fluid in my '88 U.S. M6. I used 2 Quarts of Red Line 75W90 Diff. gear lube.
