parts swap e90 to e24

Hi gents
I have just acquired a 1986 635 auto and plan to use it as a daily. Ive had a e90 330i for seven years and really love the steering/chassis/engine.
Wouldn't it be awesome to swap the heavy, dated suspension from the e24 and replace the e90 subframe etc, maybe get rid of the steering box and use the rack and pinion...not sure how the track compares in both cars
I understand its not straightforward, but is anyone knowlegable about the possibilities here?
N52 engines are now being swapped so whilst I would get minimal cash for my e90, why not try to swap stuff from it !!

Just wanted to know how hard it was but I guess its not worth thinking about
