Springs available in Australia

Post by bigboystoy »

So, I've installed my new wheels and I now need to address the issue of the stance.

I've been looking around for springs that are available here in Aus but I'm not getting very far (seems everything has to be ordered from overseas).I've used Pedders on previous cars and these are available, but before committing, I was wondering if anyone has used Pedders or knows of any local distributor of the os manufacturers that might have something in stock.

Any assistance appreciated.

Pedder springs are 'SportsRyder' for the front which drops it by approx 40mm and 'Trakryder' for the rear, again with the same amount of drop. Details as to their exact specifications are scant so please don't ask. My history with Pedders has always been good so I'm guessing a name difference front to rear is not an issue.

I have in the past resorted to cutting springs and ending up with a satisfactory result for road and track, but for this car I'd rather avoid the guess work if possible.

A fellow on the E24 forum on facebook who goes by JDM Classics on Facebook, has a new set of Spax lowering springs for sale. He wants $240 for them. I would get on facebook and grab them for that price. They are for the E28 chassis cars. He just put them up yesterday.

Getting old. My second screw up in as many days. I never looked at buyers location. Just saw Aus in message body and my mind went to Austin rather then Australia!! It's getting to be a bitch with this aging thing!! Anyway a good deal for someone stateside looking for some springs. Hey, did you get your motor back yet?

Hi Bert,

Funny you should mention that. This Tues. 4/9 Charley will finally build it,
he was swamped with the big time racing crowd to get their engines
ready for the racing season. So, I'm next on his list.
