I am addressing a groaning noise when starting up & intermittent shuddering when turning.

I count four that my '88 635csi needs, but confused by which ones I looked up on realoem.

32411134825 - ?
32411131524 - bottom of PS fluid reservoir to hydro steering box?
34321119071 - one of the smaller hoses connected to the one of the two PS reservoir outlets to brake booster?
34321119074 - one of the smaller hoses connected to the one of the two PS reservoir outlets to the brake bomb?
32411131545 - bottom of PS reservoir to steering rack?

Can anyone confirm?

Other parts to be replaced:

32411128167 - PS filter
32411128929 - O-ring for PS reservoir cover

There are only 4 return hoses, Regulator/Brake bomb, PSP, Booster, Hydro Gear box.
All the others are high pressure

Thank you. The bottom four of the list were the correct ones.

Someone used a section of heater hose for the one going straight down to the PS pump. Despite replacing all the old hoses & the filter & adding new Dex/Mercon ATF, I am still getting the whining & difficulty turning at low speeds.

SSF,

The whining is typically air in the system,
Turn the steering wheel left to right, Lock to Lock, many times, with the engin running at idle.
If that does not work, increase the RPM’s to 2000, then 2500, 3000, to try and purge the air from the system.

Best,

JCS,

Thanks, will give it a try a few more times. Maybe I didn't do it enough.

To close out this post, my groaning noise & shuddering when turning was due to the PS belt slipping. I noticed it happening when I watched the belt as the noise was occurring. Tightening the PS belt solved the issue.
