Hello all
I have a 1988 E24 (635csi); I have been told that the rear air suspension system has been disabled and it has regular vs "air bag" shocks.
However the level sensing switch was left in place and now I find it hanging down under the car supported only by its wiring harness where it was rubbing on the axle.
I have temporarily tie-wrapped up out of the way but I'd like to remove it.
I am considering just cutting the wiring harness but I am concerned that there might be either a live wire in the bundle or that doing so might disrupt other systems. Any info on how to safely remove this switch would be appreciated.
Discard Air Suspension Switch E24?

Re: Discard Air Suspension Switch E24?
I removed the SLS in my 1989, if IRRC the switch wire goes into the spare tire well (access plate) and connects to the SLS hydraulic pump in the well (yours may have been removed), disconnect at this location, make sure you waterproof the hole left by removing the wire. I removed the hard lines as well as the accumulators.
The switch itself is attached to the chassis by a couple of machine bolts.
