PS can overflow

Post by 88m6 »

New to me issue.
Noticed few drops few weeks ago on floor under canister area.
Think nothing of it til recently went to shop n noticed a puddle about 2 cups. Replaced all feed lines this spring n had no problem til now.
Upon first glance looked like one of Feed lines under can sprung a leak . So decided to open up can to see how low it was n it was BRIMMING n had been seeping thru gasket under the cover .
What would of caused that while sitting for last few months. .
None of my other garaged cars have had this issue before

Pressure accumulator depressurises over time when not used for a period spewing overfill amount out top of canister.
Correct fill level is 10mm below top when fully depressurised. You will note after running ATF fluid level drops. With engine off pump break pedal circa 20 times or until hard and you will see fluid level rise while doing so. No harm apart from the mess
