PERFORMANCE ADVISE NEEDED

Post by 635CHRIS »

I AM DEBATING ON WHAT I SHOULD UPGRADE FIRST. THE PERFORMANCE INTAKE FILTER OR CONFORTI CHIP.

ANY ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED

IMHO, Pass on the "PERFORMANCE INTAKE FILTER" and chip it. After chipping it, I would make the second upgrade a new exhaust sytem.

My 2 cents.

I think someone on this board mentioned that they were doing an in depth study on the whole cold air intake jazz... I was going to get one too, but people most people seem to think they are a waste of time... I also considered getting a Plasma Blaster unit... which is like some multispark jobby for your ingnition system. It's supposed to boost HP, torque and fuel efficiancy. But I've read that there isnt much of an improvement...

You could add a turbo charger... or TWO....

That would definately boost things...

That someone is Sohlman, his topic viewtopic.php?t=705

What about an uprated exhaust system?
Cam change?
Head work, porting etc?
All good mods seem to cost lots of ?$, guess depends on what you are looking for exactly & how deep your pockets are?!
Good luck,
Dave :)

imo nitro is probably the easiest,
no need to change compression, no rough tickovers, the engine can run as a normal car (which you want most of the time), but the performance is switched in when its needed

I agree. Even though Euro cars are different, the same logic applies here too in my view. You can make 270bhp plus on the standard air filter etc if you want.

Thats four cent's worth....
