What exhaust ( all stainless ) are available for 1988 635 ?

every set I look at says not compatible with the later cars but nothing seems to give any definitive info on how to get a system into a later 635 ....

looking for a header thru to tip - prefer all stainless ... hoping to added ground clearance ...

Have a look at fritz bits offerings in the UK. They offer systems and manifolds for all years.?rhd fitment.?

B&B (Billy Boat) makes a stainless cat back for the 88/89 635.

I bought a Super Sprint last year. Very pleased. Made in Italy for Euro spec cars. I had to swap out the front flange going into the cat. I hear good things too about Ireland Engineering.

While I love my Ireland Engineering SS cat back? It was <i>not</i> without difficulties. I had it professionally installed -since at the time, that was without cost to me- and they had to cut and re-weld some sections to make it fit. Also, the stingers seemed to be set up for a US model car, the fabricator took nearly 4 inches off them, so they didn't stick out a mile. I'm not casting aspersions on any/all Ireland SS cat backs but without a first rate fabricator, mine would never have gone on and I can imagine the frustration of trying to fit the unit in my/your back yard shop and discovering that it was not lining up. <b>Ireland sells many fine products and I like those guys. I'm sure they would have made good on it.</b> However, I live 30 miles from their shop and for me, returning a unit would be a minor inconvenience. Were I in Omaha say, or Reykjavik...

Stebro makes a great system for the 88 89 cars. The supersprint imho is over priced for a basically stock sounding system. Stebro and BB are the same price and you would be best to check either of them out.

what is the best pricing you've seen around for Stebro and BB ?

i have seen many negative complaints about Stebro quality ....

I havent seen any negatives about BB ....

best price i have seen online for BB FBMW-0720 is $870 shipped

Night and day difference in quality and service betweem BB and Stebro. Guys on another forum did a group buy from Stebro and it was a total nightmare. I live close to BB and have a decent relationship with them. System should run $1000 or less.

I got my stebro through one of the group buy members after he recieved his becuase he did not want it anymore. Quality on mine is top notch, however BB does seem to get better overall reviews. I would say for peace of mind go with the B&B to avoid any time to future issues. Best price I have seen was on bavauto.com for around 900 shipped

He sent me several images of his stainless cat-back and I sniped several images of his header from the website - they are below - many were quite dark so I've lightened them up a bunch.

The header is steel and can be had painted or ceramic coated.

The cat-back is stainless and looks pretty sharp.

He is working on a mid section with cats in stainless as well.

I believe you have to make your own down pipe as well.

Some of those primary pipes don't seem to be equal length. For all the time and cost......

Around 1980 or so I knew a guy (worked with my brother) who built a tuned 6-into-1, rotational firing order header for a Honda CBX bike. The collector was a remarkable piece of work. Drag strip times were substantially reduced. BUT.... the sound that bike made!!! Not easily forgotten. Ah..sweet youth....
