Good work!

I think a certain amount of "weeping" is normal when you're running an old BMW.

Oil can leak out too!

New term to follow "parts bingo" is "wallet weeping"

Indeed, or "wallet haemorrhage" when it's timing chain time!

Luckily this fix must go down as one of the cheapest in history, under a tenner for the parts. If i added the labour in at £65 an hour though, then it would be another story :)

Timing chain is good on my baby. However brakes are binding with front right running the hottest / pulling so i do believe it could be the brake master cylinder next (Guru Brucey knows all!).

Going to sound soft here, i do love this forum and having a car that i can get down'n'dirty with and learn 'stuff'.

Looks like I'm in the same situation. Oil tube is wet with oil. Hard to see much but going to clean everything and see if I can verify the leak.

I did replace the head gasket a couple of years ago. Hope its not leak at the back of the head. Redoing the head and timing chain wasn't to bad but I don't want to do it again just for a leak.

well done, I was going to suggest the rear main seal on the motor.
