Low side AC port on 1986 M635?

Post by milroy »

Does anyone know where the LOW pressure air conditioning refill port is on a 1986 M635?

I've located the HIGH under the large washer bottle but the LOW isn't in the same place as a 635...

Its okay after a day of head scratching and research it appears the PO changed the low pressure AC hose for one WITHOUT a port...less than ideal, you got to love a tryer ](*,)

Thanks

Yeah, that stinks. Now you can only test with the low side port before the regulator. That doesn't tell you the real low side pressure being seen by the pump, though.

I'm looking for the correct replacement hose on RealOEM, however it comes up with the standard hose (approx 45 degree connection to compressor) whereas I require the unique M635 hose with closer to 90 degree radius.

Anyone know the part number?

Have you checked with an A/C shop about having a hose custom-made. I have a non-original compressor and condensor on my car, and it was inexpensive and simple to have new hoses made.

I know this is an old post, but I am searching for all info on M635 air con, and compressor/R134A conversion. My M635 June 86 has the pipe with the low pressure port and a 45 deg bend. This is correct for the M635 with the Bosch/Behr 'wing cell' compressor. I suspect the PO changed the pipe because so far as I can tell, a brand new OEM pipe stll uses a non barrier hose. My old pipe I intend to use the fittings from if there is any evidence of leaking. Barrier hose is easily available from the same people - Codan - who make the OEM part.
