Remote central locking

Post by francoid »

Hello, does anyone have experience with any remote central locking solution?

There's a few on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Auto- ... 2042004592
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bulldog-KE1702- ... 1837850638

Work? Any good? One better than the other?

Thanks!

I recently installed a Mongoose MCL2000. Very happy with the quality.

I tried last week, no reply :|

I might go cheap chinese and see whether that works. Worst case scenario is I just throw $25 away...

I'm sure they work but to me, peace of mind is paramount when you need to get in your car :D

I am sure they work for a few days or weeks... but how quickly they stop working, that's what I am wondering about! I would not mind the higher price of quality, it just looks like there may be no choice for me here.

I had kept an eBay listing on my watched list for month. It was a remote start/central locking unit from J.C.Whitney, but it was perpetually out of stock. I finally gave up on it and deleted it from my list. IF it ever came back in stock, it was less than $50 and worked well according to a couple guys here that used it.

Thank you, that's one of the options I was looking at, I'll go with it. Did you encounter any complexity installing it?
