M88/3 tappet depressor tool

Post by M6smitten »

Anyone used the Baum tool version of this depressor? I'm having trouble getting it around the cam and I wish I had the factory version to compare.

Yes indeed! Wasn't it your good self who helped me buy this?

I remember that is was very fiddly until I got "the knack".

A magnet made getting the shims out a doddle, too.

Good luck,

Rob

Hi Watts, did you need to machine the tool at all? Or did it fit right of the box?

It fitted okay: best results turning crank so that depressor "rolls" onto tappet. Lots of oil used to help things along.

Cheers,
