So the weather is bound to get better soon so I am starting to acquire parts for my project. I am going to Turbo and manual swap my 88 635....
The silly part is I know nothing about doing stuff like that and it will be an absolute disaster I am sure .... but I still got the hope that my stubbornness will help me persevere and get the project done... and of course hopefully you guys will help me out a bit.
So I managed to land this transmission for $450 shipped from Ebay ...
Now I need to buy a full shifter assembly / flywheel . Found a guy who has a 1980/1984 and 1985 manual e24s that he is parting out. Which one should I get the manual shifter assembly from or will they all fit ? Same question about the flywheels.
Thanks a bunch for the help in advance.

Re: Manual Swap - need help
Check out all the individual shifter assembly parts on realoem.com. I believe they changed after 84 but I'm not 100% sure on that. You can look at the early then later stuff and compare part numbers.

You can use a e30 M3 adapter for the tranny.
Wow! you stole that 265 Tranny for $450.
You will need a Trans crossmember, drive/shaft too.
It's not a bad job, just finding all the correct parts is a hassle.
Did the Tranny swap on my e23. Finding the crossmember was a nightmare.

Some will tell you the lightweight flywheel is the Greatest... I wasn't impressed on the e23, caused quite a bit of chatter.

Thanks for the advice guys. Will check on realoem.com .
This is my first ever swap and will be a nightmare I am quite positive. Just got a full turbo kit and that won't make it easier on me much.

One step at a time, sixxxer. Don't take on so much that you get overwhelmed and give up.
