'84 633Csi cruise control control box location

I've searched everywhere I can think of. The number for the control box should be 65711386189.
I've seen people describe it as above and to the left of the glove box but it isn't there on my 633. I have the lower console out. Do I have to take out the upper? I want to get the control box rebuilt because my CC isn't working.

You sure it's not there? The CC unit on my '85 635 is indeed above and to the left of the glove box, inside a plastic sleeve which is attached to the framework behind the dash. It's rather difficult to find unless you know exactly what you're looking for, but it wasn't hard to access for removal. I replaced mine with one rebuilt by ProGrama, and it works great.

The plastic sleeve is item #17 and is attached to the framework with one screw (item #19):

The actuator is there, the column switch is there, but there is no box or sleeve that I can see above and to the left of the glovebox. I found the ECM above the glovebox. I dont see a wire harness with a blue connector either. Unless it is behind the defroster vents which I don't think it is. That's why I think my '84 633 might have it somewhere else.
