Turbo Install

Post by wattsmonkey »

I love this hobby: collected a spare B34 engine advertised on eBay yesterday as it was local.

The seller was, like everyone else I've met with an E24, an absolutely lovely chap. He also had the skills, having knocked out an immaculate E30 3.5 supercharged convertible before doing the sensible thing and getting a 6er.

The engine was spare as he has used a B35 as a starting point for a turbo install, fitting forged internals to bring the cr down to 7.something. The picture shows the exhaust manifold he had made up from China! Inlet to follow.

I'm hoping he'll join bigcoupe and I'm very much hoping to stay in touch to see how this build goes.

Sounds a great project.

Not sure if I'd be wanting to go into the 7's on compression. I'd want at least 8's leaning towards 9. If u get the fuelling and timing right no reason it couldn't make good power on normal pump fuel Ron98 / mon93

Sorry didn't realise it's already in the 7s. Perhaps u can go to a 027' mls gasket if u have the piston to valve clearance
