Fellow Forum Members,
My M6 A/C blower is sometimes squeaking.
I just took out the below dash console, the Radio/OCB unit to refinish (spray stain) the Leather and fix the loose OBC screws missing.
The previous Stereo installer apparently buggered up the panel and the 4 plastic tabs just below the radio, so I bought a new radio panel to install.
I took a long look at the A/C blower and its black clam shell case. To gain access to the blower motor, the entire unit has to be un-installed.
That means disconnecting the Refrigerant lines, thus a recharge.
I am not quite ready for that chore.
So I drilled two holes in the plastic case 5/16 " dia drill, to allow me to insert my oil can spout.
The two 5/16 "holes are 3.25 inches apart, about 5/8 " from the edge of the case.
I put blue tape on the oil can 2.25 " from the end. And used a flashlight to help see.
And patched the holes with Duct tape.
I still need to find out were the A/C blower Transistor is located, as my A/C fan blows only on high,
please someone help me with the location.
Best,

Re: A/C Blower, oiling the squeaky bearings,
Just removed mine for good.
The transistor is attached to the rear of the 6/8 pronged electrical plug on the RH side, just above where the A/C pipes enter. ('85 635 RHD).You'll have to remove the A/C box to access, but its not that hard.
Assuming your A/C pipes are on the same side, you won't have the pedals in the way. Just need to peel back / break off that white factory lagging and undo 2 unions. Have a rag handy to catch the oily crap that drops out.
Note, part of the a/c ducting sits on top of the A/C box and may not be obvious if it remains in place (2 spring clips up high). You'll need to make sure this goes back in the right place when reinstalling.

Thank you for your kindly information!
Yes, my worst fears are now justified, I think I will need to delay this job until after summer.
Because my sixer is my only car at the moment, but I work from home.
Best,
