Injectors not opening?

Post by mintus »

Hello All;

I have a 1986 BMW 635 csi modified with a turbo and a haltech ecu.

The wiring was changed to have switched power comes from the key and direct power comes from the battery.

I now have power at both ends of the wires connected to my injectors.

I have spark but no fuel at the injector.

The car ran before I switched the power leads.

The ECU was checked last month. The injectors are new.

I have to check the flicker with a LED light, but the ecu was injectors were all working last week.

I do not understand what would cause this to happen.

Cheers;

Brian

If you have injector pulses (the flicker with an LED light....although it takes a LOT less to fire an LED than an injector or noid light) and they are actually pulsing, you have insufficient/no fuel pressure.

My first thought was to check using a noid light - that's what they are designed to do. Not sure whether a LED will necessarily give you an accurate diagnosis.

It is difficult to understand your post. Normally, injectors activate when switched to ground by the ECU. You are saying that you have power to both sides of the injectors ?

I totally missed that. If you have anything but ground on the ECU side of the injector harness, something is wired wrong. They are powered 12v as long as the key is on, and grounded by the ECU, as baders said.
