Looks fantastic Ron. I can't imagine how long that took. You must have been black head to toe from the crap flying around? Will you clear coat it?

I didn't polish them, Dave. I got them from ebay a while ago. Someone in the States polished the arse off them to get a finish that looked chrome plated and then they got left in a damp environment and got really corroded in places.

I did make a start on them but too much for me. I found a polisher locally who has done a brilliant job (odd places where it could be improved) and all for £50.00.

Both "Sharkfan" and "Wattsmonkey" saw them in the "before" state and, hopefully, both are here this coming w/e so can see the finished article.

I was going to fit them to my E23 but will probably try to sell them to an E9 fanatic.

I'd leave them on the table as a centerpiece.

they've come up well. If you recall I test-polished part of one and thus determined that it was just a polished finish, having previously supposed that they might be chrome plated.

I don't envy anyone the job of doing it in the first place or re-doing it after they went all furry!

cheers

Wow 50 Pounds to polish that! I shudder to think what I would have paid to have that done. Previously polished or not.
