Engine stumble

Post by tmoretta »

Loving my '88 M6 (127K miles), but, the other day driving on the highway with engine fully warmed the engine started to skip. It was like a momentary shut down of ignition. It is interesting to note that the condition started only during use of the cruise control. And, when I adjusted the vehicle speed with the cruise control stalk, the windshield wipers cycled on. Any ideas?

sounds like you at least have a fault with the wiring, probably a bad earth connection that is shared with the wiper controls. This is probably what is triggering the wipers.

You may have another fault as well, but one at a time, eh....

cheers
