1986 Cassette deck FUSE question (in rear of unit)

Hey guys

Recently had an issue where my radio/cassette deck would intermittently turn on and off, so I decided to pull her out and low and behold the fuse in the back of the unit was blown.

Now my question for all those who have removed, replaced or completley thrashed their units is....there is this soft, pliable metal covering around the fuse as seen in my pics....

it was mangeled and twisted pretty gnarley when i removed it from the orange plastic housing. Does this need to be replaced as well? And if so, where would I go about finding one, I have been searching online and cant seem to find much info on this particular fuse/housing.
