Fog Light bulb for Euro M635

Post by jl6er »

Hey guys,

This is driving me mad...I ordered two H1 bulbs (PN 63-21-7-160-777) from ECS (https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw ... 3217160777) a few weeks ago for the Fog lights on my M635...when i got the car, there were no bulbs installed. So the problem now is that the ones I ordered do not fit properly inside the light housing. They connect to the wiring inside the housing perfectly and the bulbs light up, but they stick out too far and I am unable to screw the damn glass/cover back on. Is the Part I ordered simply the wrong one for the car or am I missing something else? Any help is appreciated.

The pics below are of the fog light housing on the car...the lens cover reads "Made in Austria" which I did find peculiar but like I said, the bulbs work when connected and the covers/housing looks as OEM as it gets in my opinion, but perhaps the problem is that the housing itself is wrong? That would be really unfortunate.

Thanks guys.

Pretty sure they are H1s, just like you ordered...

Did you flip them around?

I'll take a pic of mine in a bit...

Looks like it takes a H3 bulb, should be able to pick those up at your local Auto parts store.

or walmart...

Don't run your fog lights prior to entering a car wash or you risk breaking the lense. Learned it the hard way. :(
