A/C decals

Post by 88m6 »

Cleaned up under hood with new pads ,polish ,grills etc n had to remove parts n AC decal.
Genuine Parts was easy replacement but AC now available thru various parts suppliers is different #. Mine actually showed on euro m but NLA. Question is does it make a difference really?
Mine shows 3.69 which I assume is amount of refrigerant ? New ones show 2.37 . Also new ones are black not red as OE.
m6 / m635 owners what do u have?

Paul, I have never been successful sending an email using the Big Coupe site, so please use my work E addy:

[email protected]

Pat ordered a replacement A/C label for his M635 and specified how many pounds of charge was required to be read on the label, as Kos will do them custom for us =D>

Drop him a line, again tell him that I sent you from Big Coupe :-"

He did us well, VERY well \:D/

Paul - I recently went through an A/C rejuvenation and can confirm that 1675g / 3.69 lbs. is the original M6 fill level for R12. See the pic of my original sticker (which was removed soon after) below. Luckily I saved this pic and found it again right before this A/C work, because the repro sticker that I bought shows the wrong capacity (duh... don’t know why I didn’t notice that minor detail).

My car was converted to R134a about 12 years ago, and the consensus is that the R134a fill level (weight) is about 80% that of the R12 value. This appears to have worked in my car so far... it blows cold but no blown seals (yet!).
